Each panel includes a motor starter and disconnect for the exhaust fan. The panel automatically turns the exhaust fan "ON" when any vehicle is started and stays "ON" for a period of 3 - 5 minutes and then cycles "OFF" automatically. An optional thermostat can be added to override the timer if heat from the vehicle exhaust reaches temperatures of 130°. A  MANUAL mode on the panel is used for extended running of the vehicle in the bay area. Digital Read Out Carbon Monoxide Sensor The panel includes a carbon monoxide sensing system with a digital read out that monitors carbon monoxide up to 250 PPM. Optional remote carbon monoxide sensors with the same digital read out can be placed in living quarters, exercise rooms, lounge area, kitchen or other areas determined by Fire Dept. Alarm Sounds at 35 PPM Each sensor will sound an alarm, when it detects 35 PPM for 8 hours or 100% of the allowable OSHA T.W.A. (Time Weighted Average) levels of Carbon Monoxide in the space. The "CO FIREHOUSE" Panel will also turn on an orange light for warning. Alarm Sounds at 200 PPM If any sensor senses 200 PPM for 15 minutes or 100% of the allowable OSHA STEL (Short Term Exposure Limit) levels of Carbon Monoxide a "94 DBA" horn shall sound and a blue light shall sequence "ON" and remain on until such levels fall below the OSHA levels. At the preference of the fire department, the same signal shall activate a remote exhaust fan. The panel shall be painted bright red with custom engraved tags identifying all lights, buttons, and alert horns. Each panel shall be supplied with a keyed lock. All starters, relays, disconnects, and components of the panel shall be American made and locally available. Eaton or Allen Bradley controls are to be used where possible. The panel shall be a model "CO Firehouse Control Panel" as manufactured by Hallmeyer Control Panels located in Plainfield, Indiana (317) 839-8329.
